KEY PLASTICS’ EXPANDS MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES AT CHIHUAHUA , MEXICO FACILITY

 

NORTHVILLE, Mich. , March 30, 2007 – In early 2007, Key Plastics L.L.C. launched production of a new paint system in their Chihuahua , Mexico facility.  With the addition of this state-of-the-art equipment, Key Plastics increases both their capacity and capability for painting injection molded product in Mexico .

The new paint system includes two water wash spray booths, each with 6 axis robotic application.  The air handling system is both temperature and humidity controlled, with HEPA filtration providing better than class 10,000 clean room atmosphere throughout the enclosure, with further HEPA filtration in the spray area.  Further, product entering the paint system is brushed with an automated ostrich feather cleaning system and a robot mounted plasma treating system.

The product racking system was designed for maximum system flexibility.  Parts can be mounted on a rotating “drum” to maximize system throughput or on either a flat pallet or vertical rack for larger parts and applications requiring more complex spray patterns.
