Key Plastics utilizes several primary mechanisms to promote internal communication and leadership from our management teams. Each process is vital to our corporate culture and directly related to our continued success in our industry. Key Plastics measures each of these items and holds management accountable to continuous month over month improvement.

People Are Important

  • Management's responsibility is to serve the worker and remove obstacles that prevent workers from accomplishing their objectives

  • P.A.I. is a formal system of documenting answers to questions from employees to promote improved communication throughout the organization.

  • Ask, Listen & Respond to workers needs 

  • Human Resources summarize the activity monthly by group & plant location.

  • Tracked are the Total # of Questions Generated, Planned Questions to be Answered that Month, Actual Question Answered that Month & Days Late

  • Human Resources also summarizes the questions by categories: Safety, Compensation & Benefits, Facility Issues, Policies, Company Operating Results, and Other

  • Goals for the number of questions expected to be generated by location have been established and results are factored into the Plant of the Year calculation 

Operational and Financial Reviews

  • Operational reviews are held monthly with the plant leadership and senior corporate representation.  A total of nearly 40 critical success factor metrics are reviewed with an emphasis on operational excellence, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

  • Financial reviews are held monthly on a global basis.  Financial health metrics are reviewed against operating plans and strategic initiatives.  All global senior leadership participates.

Quality Reviews

  • Bi-Weekly plant reviews are held to promote factory floor focus on process and systemic corrective action.  A standard structured approach is utilized to drive systematic problem solving and learning.  Best practice sharing and continuous improvement are heavily emphasized, taught and expected.
